"Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear.” Then the angel said to me, "Write:'Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!' "And he added, "These are the true words of God"

Weddings of the OT

The Jewish marriage consisted of three separate steps: the legal part, the bridegroom comes and takes the bride home, and the celebration of the marriage supper.

In the first step, the family sometimes sent a servant or matchmaker to find a wife for the groom (Gen. 24). They completed the legal part of the marriage and paid a dowry during the first part of the marriage process. The bride was a legal member of the groom’s family. After the engagement, the bride then waited and prepared herself for the coming of the groom.

The second part came when the bridegroom took the bride to his house. Up until that time the bride had not seen the groom. The groom took his bride to his home and completed the marriage (Gen. 24:67).

The third part was the marriage supper celebration after the second part of the marriage. The Jewish marriage supper lasted seven days.

Our Marriage to Christ

In the first step, we commit our life to our Lord and Savior as his legal bride. The Bible calls people who trust in Jesus for eternal life the bride of Christ (2 Cor. 11:2, 3). Jesus Christ paid the dowry for us when he died on the cross for our sins. We wait and have not seen our Lord yet, but we have legal rights as part of our husband’s family(Eph. 5:23–32). The Lord sent a matchmaker, the Holy Spirit, to bring us into the family
of God.

Wedding to the Lamb makes us one

The bride waits and … has made herself ready. Jesus gives us … fine linen, bright and clean to wear (Matt. 25:1–13). Our Savior honors us with robes of his righteousness and holiness (Matt. 22:11–14). He justifies us through our faith in him after we commit our life to him (Col. 1:22). Our husband Jesus wants us to wait and prepare ourselves for his return. We do this by completing what he has called each of us to do (Phil. 2:12–16).

Wedding Marriage supper helps us Reflect the colors of our God as his bride waiting for Heaven celebration

In the second step of our marriage, Jesus will take us to his home. This will happen when we die on earth, or at the end of the Age when he returns (John 14:1–3).

The third part of our marriage to Jesus or the wedding supper of the Lamb … will then happen in Heaven. The celebration of our resurrection and marriage to the Lamb will last forever and ever.

The angel said … Blessed are those who are invited to the celebration supper in Heaven with the Lamb. The word blessed indicates that someone’s “fortunate, well off, and happy.” The angel then affirms this by saying … These are the true words of God.

THE PROPOSAL

Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved
~ Isaiah 55:1; Mattew 11:28; John 14:6; John 3:16-17 ~

THE ANSWER

The same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for,"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved". That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God
~ Romans 10:9-10,12,13; John 1:12-13 ~

THE GOWN

And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God. See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put rich garments on you
~ Revelations 19:8; Isaiah 61:10; Zechariah 3:4 ~

THE OFFICIAL

I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphs, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. THE HONEYMOON

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever
~ 1 Thessalonians 4:17 ~

THE HOME

In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him
~ John 4:1,3,23 ~
