The traffic was not that bad and I tried to get a glimpse of Vin Diesel or Dwayne Johnson, but the set was shut tight for onlookers. Hollywood has been filming here for the last 3 weeks and we are getting accustomed to the action and the distraction. It is not the first time, nor will be the last

Although the movie is being filmed here, the action will be set in Brazil, which is a bust. People watching this will think how beautiful Brazil is when indeed is Puerto Rico. No matter, we are always happy when mayor movie studios come to our little neck of the woods, injecting mayor bucks into our economy. If we catch a glimpse of the actors, that’s a mayor luck. If not, they are most welcome anyway

Rented 4 movies this week. The Wolfman, The Book of Eli, Shutter Island and The Fourth Kind. Off all of them, the last one was downright awful is not even worth mention it. The other 3 were so so but since I love Denzel, Leo and Benicio, I’m willing to accept these not so good movies. They performed really good, as always, but the screenplay was lame. Hollywood is decaying lately and basically the name of the actor is the one that is carrying the weight of the production. Any other actor, and these movies would go down in silence

Girls and ladies (ahem) were screaming @ the sight of Edward and Jacob. I’m on team Edward. His romantic proposal to Bella was amazing. Sooo cute!

Although I like Edward, he is too young for me so my vote goes for 2 hunklicious grown ups. Charlie on the human side and Carlisle on the vampire side. Enough said

Planning on watching it again next week. My daughter is at fault for getting me hooked. She has all the books, and although I haven’t even read any of them, I have watched the previous 2 movies several times. Like I say, I have been Twilightized!

Yesterday we went to see the premiere here in the island, so we left early for the matinee show. I expected long lines, so I was ready for the waiting, but there was nobody there! The show was to start around 2:00pm and we arrived around 11:30am. What a waste. Thank goodness they opened the doors at 12:15, so we went in and sat on an empty theater. Pleople started to arrive around 1:30. No rush, no craziness, no lines. Just one girl with a black rope . That was the only sign that this was a Harry Potter movie. Incredible. And there were a lot of empty seats by the time the curtains came up. I remember back in the states, we would go to the midnight show and it was madness. I guess people here don’t go crazy for that.

Anyway, to be honest, I found the movie extremely boring, lame and confusing. This director (Yates) jumped too quickly from scenes without letting us savor it’s content. And when something interesting came about, it would end just as quickly as it started. I guess he was trying to fit as much of the book as possible in the tedious 2.5 hours it lasted, but it became a maze of distorted dialogue and confusing imagery. Not even the funny part where Ron is under a spell could save this over the top catastrophe.

My daughter loved it more than the Order of the Phoenix, but in my opinion this is the worst of the series.

Ok, It’s been a busy week, but I took time to enjoy my favorite pastime: MOVIES! I love movies, all kinds. Last Friday (the 24th), while the masses were getting punched, cursed out and almost kill during black Friday, I was enjoying Gone with the Wind. It was my very first time watching this remarkable film. I loved it! I have never seen it before and it took me 5 hours to see it all (it was on cable, so commercials were invited). I love it when Rett told Scarlet, “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damm” Awesome! That was a cliffhanger right there. I never watched the sequel, which I heard is pretty bad, but this movie must be re-made.Yep.

Anyway, I got to see Superman, Ice Age and Over the Hedge. I love them all. Pretty funny too. I laughed like crazy watching Over the Hedge! Superman is nostalgic. Brandon looks like Christopher, so memories of the big guy came back. And Kevin as a baddy rocks! Ice Age was good, but too similar to the first one, so nothing new there.

I can’t wait for next week when Pirates of the Caribbean comes out. Now, that’s a movie to talk about… yummy
